The inspiration for this collection of individually hand thrown and slab build vases comes from combining various principles and ideas found in classic Art Deco and Machine Age design. Minimalist or geometric Art Deco themes can be seen in our vases and we often create strong angular streamlined designs inspired by the dynamic Machine Age feeling of speed and movement. The initial stage for making a new vase is to first produce a pencil drawing. Then after many alterations we carefully recreate the final design on the potter’s wheel, or by slab built construction. Each vase is individually handmade at our Studio Pottery and careful attention to detail is of paramount importance at every stage.
